Coaching-Led Fitness Studio

Train for the life outside the gym.

Summit Lane is a coached studio, not a room full of machines. Every class has a plan, every plan has a coach, and every member has people who notice when they miss a week.

  • 54 coached classes a week

A typical Tuesday at Summit Lane

Every class is capped at 16 so the coach can actually coach. Book classes in the Summit Lane member app up to seven days out; a standby list opens the moment a class fills.

Substitutions happen. When a coach is out, connected members hear who is covering before they leave the house.

Four tracks

Pick a track. Change it whenever life changes.

Members choose one of four training tracks. Each has its own class mix and its own coach who checks in monthly. Switching is one conversation, not a new contract.

  • Start here

    Foundations

For people returning to exercise or starting from zero. Squat, hinge, push, pull and carry, taught slowly, with loads that rise only when your form has earned it.

    3 classes a week recommended

  • Strength

Progressive barbell and dumbbell programming in 8-week blocks. You keep a log, your coach reads it, and the numbers move.

    3 to 4 classes a week

  • Conditioning

Rowers, bikes, sleds and bodyweight work in structured intervals. Built for the person who wants to climb stairs, carry groceries and chase kids without thinking about it.

    2 to 4 classes a week

  • Longevity

Mobility, balance, moderate strength and a lot of coaching attention. Popular with members over 55 and with anyone rebuilding after an injury, once cleared by their own clinician.

    2 to 3 classes a week

Teen Strength runs separately for ages 13 to 17 and requires a parent conversation before the first session.

Personal training

One coach, one plan, and a reason to keep showing up.

Personal training here is not a sales funnel for a bigger package. It is a coach who writes your program, watches you move, and adjusts the plan when your knee, your job or your sleep changes.

Sessions run 50 minutes on the open floor or in the small back studio. Most members pair one session a week with two or three classes; some come only for sessions. Both are fine.

  • Movement assessment before any program is written
  • Programs live in the Summit Lane member app, the same app you book classes in, updated every 4 weeks
  • Packs of 4, 8 or 12 sessions, no expiry inside 6 months

Challenges and community

The reason people stay is rarely the equipment.

Three times a year the whole studio takes on something together. Between challenges, smaller groups run on their own: the 5:45 crew, the Saturday hikers, the Tuesday-night parents.

  • Members retesting a lift on the final Saturday of the Base Challenge, a coach recording numbers on a clipboard

    6-Week Base Challenge

Runs every January, May and September. Attend 18 classes in 6 weeks, log your lifts, retest on the final Saturday. No weight-loss leaderboard, ever.

Next start: second week of September

  • A group of about twenty members walking up a grassy hill trail with weighted packs on a cool, overcast morning

    Summit Saturdays

Once a month the 9:00 class moves outdoors: a hill loop, a park circuit, a long walk with a heavy pack. Family members welcome at no charge.

    First Saturday, 9:00 AM

  • Members with coffee cups talking in the studio lobby after the Sunday class

    Member socials

Coffee after the Sunday class, a quarterly potluck in the lobby, and a pickup basketball game that has run every Thursday since 2019.

Stay in the loop

A cancelled 5:45 class should reach you before your alarm does.

Summit Lane keeps members posted on schedule changes, substitute coaches, open spots, challenge dates and what's happening this week, on your phone.

Join with your email address at the front desk or from your welcome email and every update comes to you by email. When you add the free Blasts app and enter our code, the same updates move to your phone on their own. Nothing to sign up for twice.

You pick your track and the classes you want to hear about. Mute us during a holiday, leave the day you cancel, or reply STOP to any email if you'd rather not hear from us at all.

  • 6-Week Base Challenge starts a week from Monday

Ana here. Baseline testing is the Saturday before, from 10:30, and the retest is on the final Saturday. Eighteen classes in six weeks, at your pace, and no weight-loss leaderboard. Reply YES to join and we'll add you at the desk.

  • Teen Strength this week: flat shoes, please

Dev here. Tuesday's 4:30 Teen Strength starts the barbell block, so teens need flat-soled shoes rather than running shoes. We lend belts, every bar starts empty, and loads only go up when technique has earned it. Parents are welcome to watch from the lobby; reply here with any questions.

  • 6:45 Conditioning: Dev is coaching this morning

Marcus here. Ana is out sick, so I'm covering her 5:45 Foundations and Dev is taking 6:45 Conditioning. Same session as planned, intervals on the rowers and sleds. Your booking in the member app stands as it is.

  • Two spots open in tonight's 5:30 Conditioning

Two people have released their bookings for tonight's 5:30 Conditioning with Dev. Reply YES and Priya at the desk will book you in. First two replies get the spots.

  • Summit Saturday moves indoors this week

Ana here. The forecast for Saturday morning is heavy rain, so the 9:00 class stays in the studio: a pack-carry circuit on the floor instead of the hill loop. Same start time, and family members are still welcome at no charge.

The same Saturday notice, before and after you add the app

Coaches

People who coach for a living, not between other jobs.

Seven coaches work the floor. These three run the tracks and write most of the programming.

  • Ana Ferreira leaning on a squat rack in the main studio

    Ana Ferreira

    Head Coach, Foundations and Strength

Opened Summit Lane in 2017 after a decade coaching in a university weight room. Still teaches the 5:45 AM class four days a week.

  • Marcus Bell seated on a rowing machine talking to someone off camera

    Marcus Bell

    Conditioning Lead

Former rowing coach. Designs the interval programming and runs the Lunch Lift and evening Open Floor sessions.

  • Dev Raman kneeling beside a foam roller in the mobility corner, grinning

    Dev Raman

    Longevity and Teen Strength Coach

Joined in 2022. Runs the over-55 programming and the after-school teen sessions, and somehow keeps both rooms laughing.

I joined for the January challenge because a coworker did. I stayed because when I skipped a week after my dad got sick, Ana sent me one message: no pressure, we saved your spot. Nobody at my old gym would have noticed I was gone.
